Lakeland's Construction Management Program prepares students for careers in the construction field with an emphasis on residential and light commercial building construction.

According to LCC’s 2002 Economic Environmental Scan of Lake County:
Construction industry ranks 6th among the top 10 largest industries.
There are 1,267 construction firms in Lake County.

According to Lake County Building Department:
From 2000-2004, there was a 50% increase in the number of new houses built.
Over 500 new homes and 200 multi-family structures were constructed in Lake County in 2004.
