Upon
completion of the program, the student
will be able to:
1. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology,
kinesiology, and massage theory and principles
to appropriately perform a full-body
Swedish massage.
2. Identify contraindications to massage.
3. Demonstrate ways of adapting massage
for clients with particular conditions
or needs.
4. Make treatment decisions based on
health information gained from the client.
5. Provide client education related to
procedures.
6. Provide client care and comfort.
7. Use palpation skills to locate and
treat muscle spasm and other sources
of pain.
8. Use sanitation and infection control
procedures.
9. Exercise independent judgment in performing
procedures.
10. Document findings and procedures
in SOAP note format.
