We appreciate your
cooperation with the College’s
hiring processes, including our requests that you apply
only for posted vacancies (with the exception of
part-time faculty positions for which we accept applications
at
any time) and that you not telephone the department
for information about vacant positions. Our announcements of vacant positions
are generally very detailed. However, if your interest
in a position is contingent upon information not available
in the posting, we request that you submit your question
via e-mail. You may submit your question to psevera@lakelandcc.edu.
We
also utilize e-mail to confirm receipt of application
materials and to provide notification of when a position
has been filled. (You can also check the status of
our
efforts to fill an open position by clicking Check
Status of Recently Posted Vacancies.) In
the event that you do not have an e-mail address,
we will notify you via US postal service when the position
you applied for has been filled.
NEPOTISM
The College does not
permit the employment of relatives, in any status or
capacity, within the same administrative unit. We define
relatives to include:
- Parents: including
in-laws, step-parents and grandparents
- Siblings: including
in-laws and step-brothers and sisters
- Spouse
- Children: including
step-children and grandchildren
- Aunts and uncles
- First cousins
If you are uncertain
whether or not this policy applies to your situation,
please contact Cathy Bush, Director for Human Resources,
at (440) 525-7112.
PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS
We file applications in electronic ‘folders’ using
the titles and dates of our vacant positions. If you
previously submitted an application and wish to use it
to apply for another position, you may request that we
retrieve it for you under the following conditions:
- It has been less than twelve months since you
submitted the application.
- You remember the name of
the previous position for which you submitted the
application.
- There have been no significant changes
in contact information or employment since you initially
applied.

CRIMINAL
HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK
If you are a finalist
for any position with the College, you will be subject
to a criminal history background check based on fingerprints taken by our Campus
Police Department and submitted to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
A conviction record may not prevent an individual from being employed by the
College. Factors such as the individual's age at the time of the crime, the seriousness
of the crime, and the nature of the crime in relation to the position are taken
into consideration.
