APPLICANTS
Auditions
are open to anyone up to the age of 18. All
instrumentalists
and voice students with appropriate repertoire
are allowed to audition. Auditions are judged
in two categories: up through age 13, and
ages 14 and older.
STUDIO LIMIT
Each
teacher is allowed to bring a maximum of
two (2) students from
their studio.
SCHEDULING
AN AUDITION
You may schedule an audition
by contacting Theresa Myllykoski at (440)
525-7261.
Auditions will be scheduled for the evening
of Monday, November 16, 2009 from 5:00-9:30pm.
LOCATION
Lakeland
Community College is located at 7700 Clocktower
Drive in Kirtland,
Ohio.
The auditions will be held in the Performing
Arts Center. As you face the campus
with
the clocktower to your back, enter
the building on your left. The Performing
Arts Center is immediately to your
right.
Before your audition time, you may
leave your cases and coats in room
C-1078.
There
are adjoining practice rooms on
the left once you enter C-1078,
and you
may warm
up in these rooms. AUDITION
INFORMATION
Each applicant will be
allotted 10 minutes to perform. You may
perform
contrasting
movements or one whole movement,
whichever you feel best displays
your abilities,
but the entire length of your
audition may not exceed 10 minutes.
ACCOMPANIST
Accompanists are required for
the audition. You must provide
your
own accompanist.
A
piano will be provided. (Two
pianos will be onstage, for
those playing
solo piano.)
WINNER
Winners
will be notified within 10 days of the
audition date,
and will
be asked
to perform on the March
concert date.
PLEASE NOTE:
If
an applicant is not able
to perform with the orchestra
on March 7, they will
not be considered eligible for the competition.
