Welcome
to Lakeland Community College's
Music Department.
The music
department offers an array of elective
courses covering
several mixes of musical categories
including
pop/ rock and classical music to provide
students with access to music career
preparation. Classes emphasize music
theory, as well as applied instruction
in voice, piano, organ, and a wide
assortment of orchestral and band
instruments, including
jazz and popular music applications.
Students taking classes in voice and
keyboard will use the college’s
state-of-the-art computer integrated
piano lab. Many students interested in
music as a profession choose to pursue
an associate of arts degree at Lakeland
and transfer credits to a four-year music
school. Students have numerous outlets
for exhibiting their talents at Lakeland.
Excelling performers may participate
in chorus, band, orchestra, and jazz
civic/student ensembles.
