| Students
who successfully complete a program of study
listed under the various business programs will
be granted the associate of applied business
degree. Certificate programs in certain
areas permit recognition of students for successful
completion of a designed "package" of prescribed
courses. |
| Technical
/ Career Programs |
| Technical/Career
programs serve the goal of immediate employability
and are not intended primarily for transfer
students; however, many of these programs do
transfer in whole or in part to appropriate
baccalaureate programs. Students should
consult counselors
or the heads of the various technology programs
for information about institutions offering
programs which facilitate such transfer. |

| Advisory
Committees |
| Each
program receives close cooperation from an advisory
committee of business and professional people
allied with the particular field. Occupational
education in the community college is concerned
with the ever-changing employment scene.
Educators must provide skills that are salable;
they must keep in constant communication with
representatives of the world of work.
One significant way to do this involves use
of advisory committees. Representing the
spectrum of employers and their professions,
they perform the vital role of placing business
and industry at the side of educational planners
where they can guard against program obsolescence
and help interpret manpower demands. |
