This two-year program introduces students to Civil Engineering Technology with courses in construction materials, architectural drafting, construction estimating and management, design of structural steel, reinforced concrete, soil and foundation mechanics, construction inspection, surveying and computer applications, etc.

In addition to technology courses, this program provides students with valuable contract management skills necessary for supervisory positions. This program will transfer to four-year institutions leading to a bachelor's degree in Civil Technologies.

This curriculum, combining architectural courses with courses related to civil engineering, prepares the graduate for positions with engineering and architectural firms; with federal, state, county, and city governments; and with construction firms and residential builders. Job opportunities are available in such fields as urban redevelopment and rehabilitation, highway design and construction, structural engineering and surveying.
