Email: jforster@lakelandcc.edu
Description: The Center for International Education is pleased to announce that Lakeland Community College student Andrew Eith has been accepted to participate in the 2008-2009 Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals! 75 total participants were chosen from an applicant pool of nearly 500, and it is a great accomplishment that Mr. Eith was chosen to take part in this unique study- and work-abroad opportunity. Mr. Eith is the first Lakeland student accepted into the CYBX program.

Entering its 25th year, the CBYX program is made possible due to the ongoing support of the United States Congress and the German Bundestag since the program's inception in 1983. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 24 at the start of the program, and must be US citizens or Permanent Residents. Applicants do not need to be enrolled in a college or university, but should have well-defined career goals with related work/internship experience, flexibility, good communication skills, diplomacy, and a strong sense of American identity. Previous knowledge of German is not required but strongly recommended. The program is designed primarily for young adults in business, technical, engineering, agricultural, and vocational fields, though candidates in all fields are encouraged to apply.
Mr. Eith is the son of Dr. Gary Eith, Dean of the Business Division of Lakeland Community College
