Shakespeare in the Globe Theater
Study Shakespeare in London

In the Spring Quarter, the Lakeland English Department is offering a special course at the Globe Theater in London. English 2910 will take place May 7-15 2005 in England. Students will study Shakespeare and see plays at Shakespeare's Globe Theater. This replica of the original Globe Theater is part museum, part playhouse. Here, students can see plays as they were meant to be seen by the audiences of Elizabethan England. Students will take part in special seminars about Shakespeare's theater and his stagecraft, and they will also attend performances at the Globe. A unique part of the course will also focus on film adaptations of Shakespeare's plays. The class will also take a trip to Shekespeare's birthplace, Stratford-Upon -Avon.

The cost for the course will be approximately $2,500.00. A non-refunadble deposit of $100.00 to hold a place in the class is due by March 1, 2005.
