A primary function of the Institutional Research office is to support our constituencies across the college through the collection and distribution of information for academic and administrative decision-making. Information is provided through annually-prepared reports or in response to individual requests. Assistance in survey design and data analysis is also provided upon request. Regularly-prepared reports that relate to our students and programs include enrollment profiles, graduate reports, program review and advisory committee surveys.

Current Students - Enrollment Analysis

The Institutional Research office prepares an analysis of each term's enrollment which describes the student body, major demographic characteristics, and factors that may be influencing changes in the type of students attending the college. Trend information is provided on a one-year and 10 year basis. Daily and weekly enrollment comparisons/reports are also prepared during registration periods to support enrollment management decisions.

For further information contact Laura Chew.

Graduates of Lakeland - Graduate Satisfaction Survey and Graduate Follow-Up Survey

Each year the Institutional Research office conducts surveys of Lakeland's graduates. A Graduate Satisfaction Survey is completed by graduates at the time of graduation. A Graduate Follow-Up survey is mailed to graduates six months after completing their degree program. The Graduate Follow-Up survey report includes a comparison of survey respondents to all graduates, information on graduates' employment, continuing education, satisfaction with their educational experience, five-year trend information and a listing of employers and job titles.

Graduate and employer surveys are also conducted at the request of departments and programs. Employers are asked their perception of the relevancy and adequacy of the graduates' education and training. This information is used in the evaluation of our technical and degree programs.

State Reporting

The Institutional Research office at Lakeland manages state reporting to the Ohio Board of Regents. Most required reporting is processed from the Research office, and assistance is provided to other departments on campus who collect and submit their own data.

Higher Education Information (HEI) Reports

The Higher Education Information system (HEI) is the replacement for the Ohio Board of Regents' original data collection mechanism, the Uniform Information System (UIS). The primary technical distinction between HEI and UIS lies in the use of the Internet to transmit and process data files to OBR.
