TThe primary reason for this change is that the online schedule is updated in real time, whereas the printed schedule became quickly out of date. In fact, more than 1,500 changes occur between the time the paper class schedule goes to the printer and the first day of classes. Classes are added, become full and are unavailable, or have changes in date, time, location, or instructor. Having a printed schedule showing outdated information is frustrating and not doing students a service.
The online version provides the most up-to-date course information because class changes are viewed instantly. It also saves printing and paper costs, uses fewer resources and is better for our environment. Most other colleges have moved to an online class schedule years ago for these same reasons and have made the adjustment with no problems.
By having the most up-to-date class information, students should experience less frustration in planning their schedules. We appreciate your support in our efforts to serve you better and conserve resources. |
