Most mammals are nocturnal so taking pictures of them can be problematic. I used a flash light for focusing and a flash unit on my camera to photograph this opposum visiting my feeder. Red-eye results from the flash reflecting back from light reflective layers of the retina. I could avoid this by positioning flashes to the side but this was a quick grab shot.
