The prairies are a wonderful place to go for flower photography if the conditions are right. Wind blows a great deal on the prairies so one has to use faster shutter speeds to minimize movements of flowers. On a still day with great lighting, some very unique plants can be photographed. This is prairie smoke. I used backlighting and a low angle to enhance the filamentous structure.
