While walking around the grounds of the hotel in San Diego, I noticed some hummingbirds staking out territories around flowering shrubs. This rufous male was very active and I had to wait a long time before I could get a picture like this. I wish his bill was on this side of the stem. A long telephoto lens with a camera mounted flash helped get a nice image of this beautiful bird.
