Lakeland Community College is excited to offer a new honors program beginning fall of 2018! Students who qualify and choose to enroll in this program can expect:

  • Classes with a curriculum that is designed for honors-level students.
  • Experiential learning opportunities offered outside of the classroom.
  • Ease of transfer to several partner colleges and universities.
  • The chance to create a unique honors portfolio to take upon program completion.

Criteria for Participation
Incoming Students (new to Lakeland)
  • 3.5 minimum GPA from high school or transfer institution
  • ACT or SAT submission

    *Exceptions can be reviewed on a case by case basis
Continuing Lakeland Students
  • Minimum of nine credit hours completed
  • 3.5 minimum GPA

    *Exceptions can be reviewed on a case by case basis
Steps for getting started

Skip steps 1-3 if you already attend Lakeland

  1. Apply to Lakeland
  2. Submit transcripts from your high school or previous institution
  3. Register for new student orientation. Talk to your counselor about the honors program
  4. Use your Lakeland ID (LID) to log in to MyLakeland and complete the honors application 
  5. Contact your academic counselor to register for honors classes.
  6. Attend the honors reception taking place this fall (date TBD)
  7. Watch your emails for honors events this fall!
