This program is designed to provide outplacement
on an individual basis through needs assessment, job coaching, and participation
in the on-going Job Shop Program offered at Lakeland Community College. The
Job
Shop Program includes The Monday
Morning Speaker Series and access
to the Center's many resources. This program is primarily tailored to the needs
of salaried workers. The individual components of the program are:
- Needs
Assessment Interview - This is conducted to determine the job search skill
level of an individual so that an individualized job search strategy can be developed.
The Needs Assessment is usually arranged within two to seven days after the lay-off.
A manual, A Resource Guide to Help You Expedite Your Re-employment Journey, is
provide to each Individual at this time.
- Job Coaching -
Four hours for the individual to meet with a job counselor. The first two hours
are usually scheduled as soon as possible after the layoff.
- Each
Individual receives a copy of the Surviving Layoff and other materials.
- Resume Critique
- Job Shop Workshops -
Each individual in this program may attend the on-going Job Shop "Monday
Morning Speaker Series." The topics cover all essential
areas of the job search process.
- Resource Access - Individuals
in the program have access to computers, fax, copier, books, career assessments,
etc. at Lakeland.
