The first aid/health services office falls under the jurisdiction of the campus police department. The staff of the first aid department, located in Room A-5, is available for first-aid care and interim treatment of minor injury or illness. Services provided at no charge include:
First aid for minor injuries.
Rescue squad support for emergency situations.
Immunization information for health technology and international students. Literature on alcoholism, cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, nutrition, and other health issues.
Bi-yearly tuberculosis screening program for health technology and international students.
Confidential blood pressure and weight screening.
Personal safety information on topics such as emergency services, first aid, rohypnol, etc.
Information on community and health programs including a low-cost student health insurance plan designed for Lakeland students taking six or more credit hours. Brochures describing this plan may be obtained from the first aid secretary.
