The public service technology career fields are also considered part of the social sciences domain and the common bond is that they are people oriented. Those who choose these career fields share the satisfaction of helping others and serving the community. Generally, these careers are in the fields of teaching and child care, public safety (law enforcement, corrections, emergency management and fire protection), human service and social work, and travel and tourism. Professional and para-professional opportunities to work in these fields are open to those who qualify.
I graduated with my associate degree from Lakeland while at the same time graduating as Valedictorian from high school. I plan to attend the Holden University Center to complete my bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

One thing I really love about Lakeland and being in the honors program is that the teachers have small classes and they are very devoted to their students. My friends at four-year institutions are taking the same intro classes that I am, but in large lecture halls with a lot more students.
