MODERN LANGUAGES

Lakeland offers introductory, elementary and intermediate courses in many modern languages. Programs include French, German, Italian and Spanish languages. In the classes, students learn sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary in order to speak and write the language on a functional level. Intermediate courses offer further study of the culture and civilization found in each area and use a variety of sources such as films, documentaries, reports and discussions as part of the coursework.

Students can focus their studies at Lakeland in modern languages as an Associate of Arts degree concentration or transfer the credits to a four-year college or university. Others may take the classes for personal interest and advancement.
