Lakeland Community College offers an array of musical opportunities for students and community members seeking to:

• Take music courses to satisfy general education requirements
• Develop musical and technical skills in music
• Study an instrument or voice in group or private lessons
• Earn an Associate of Arts degree with a focus on music, with the potential to transfer into a four-year program in music.
• Perform in one of our Lakeland Civic Music ensembles.

Successful completion of an Associates of Arts in music may lead to employment in a variety of different occupations. Below are examples which typically include additional degree work at a transfer institution. Most music courses are in the music wing, located on the first floor of the C-Building and D-Building. Facilities include:

• Dr. William and Mrs. Evelyn Fletcher Music Room (C-1078): A rehearsal and classroom space equipped with projection and playback equipment, and sufficient chairs and music stands for an 80-member ensemble.
• Music Computer Lab (C-1088): A 14-seat computer and piano lab used for classes in electronic music, class piano, and music theory.
• Practice rooms (C-1081 through C-1087): first-come, first-served individual and small group practice space, each soundproofed and equipped with an acoustic piano.
• Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center (D-1093): A 400-seat auditorium with professional-quality stage machinery, lighting, sound capabilities, acoustical shells and Steinway B grand piano.
